General guidelines

Background

FunAndGames.org has been online since 1999 and recieves a high volume of web traffic and many thousands of visitors per month.

It was designed as a resource for those looking for supplies, crafts, activities and ideas for youth and childrens' work, parties and other events. Users of this site are youth workers, parents, teachers... anybody in fact who has or works with children and children themselves. Part of this resource is a directory of companies, websites and organisations that visitors would find useful for more ideas, suppliers or events, etc. Users browsing the site and the resources section are therefore actively looking for specific, relevant resources and pay more attention to any adverts as opposed to undirected hit and miss advertising.

Advertising we allow

Sites and companies should fit into any of the following categories:  

These are general guidelines, so if you feel your product or site is not listed but would be of interest to youth, children and those working with them, please contact us and we will let you know. 

Advertising we do NOT allow

As the website has an audience which includes children and youth looking for ideas. We will NOT list or link to sites or companies that offer adult content or products or sites that directly promote gambling.

We will also not promote sites that are mainly lists of links to other sites. 

Advertising rates and types:

Banner Ads

We have opportunites for placement of vertical and horizontal banners on the main pages and in the resources section. Please contact us if you are interested in renting banner space.

Prices depend on the page, location, size and duration that you wish the space for.

Resource section:

Is a specific section of the site providing a directory listing of companies that users can search.

We offer the following types of listing:

FREE Listing 

A free listing is text only. Just provide us with your company or website name, contact details and a description of the site or services limited to 100 words. e.g.

Terms and Conditions

  1. FunAndGames.org reserves the right not to publish listings if the content or target website is not in keeping with our image and/or target audience.
  2. Any listing must comply with the general guidelines outlined above. All products or services must be suitable for young people or children.
  3. All URLs are checked to confirm content. We will not accept URLs to sites that do not exist or have no content.
  4. FunAndGames.org takes no responsibility for the content of external sites that it is linked to.
  5. If the content of an advertised site or company is found to have changed after being listed (or no longer has a web presence) and no longer provides the goods or services in keeping with our target audience, FunAndGames.org reserves the right to remove or alter the listing from the directory as it sees fit. There will be no refund of money.
Additional Terms and Conditions for Enhanced listings and Banner Advertising
  1. FunAndGames.org reserves the right not to publish supplied artwork if the design, content or target website is not in keeping with our image and/or target audience.
  2. Minimum contract period is 6 months for an Enhanced Listing.
  3. Contracted period starts from the date the advertising is uploaded and made live on the site. We aim for this to be within 7 working days of receiving payment and the relevant of any artwork being received or finalised in the case of it being created by our in house design team.
  4. Any contract is not valid until full payment has been recieved and cleared.
  5. All prices are gross and stated in UK Pounds sterling. All prices are for the contracted period paid for, until it expires. You will not be charged more if there is a change in advertising rates during your contracted period.
  6. Renewal after a contract has expired will be at the rates being offered at the time of expiry. 
  7. If an advertising contract is not renewed before the end of the contracted period the banner will be removed at the end of the contracted period.
  8. A contract can be renewed at any time. FunAndGames.org will remove the banner and/or remove the listing or only provide it as a basic free listing.
