General guidelines

Fun and Games.org is a popular site that has been online since 1999 and receives on average 1.5 million hits per month (correct as of Feb 2006 #stats).

It was designed as a resource for those looking for supplies, crafts, activities and ideas for youth and childrens' work, parties and other events. Users of this site are youth workers, parents, teachers... anybody in fact who has or works with children and children themselves.  Part of this resource is a directory of companies, websites and organisations that visitors would find useful for more ideas, suppliers or events, etc. Users browsing the site and the resources section are therefore actively looking for specific, relevant resources and pay more attention to any advert as opposed to undirected hit and miss advertising. So, if you have or know of a company or website of interest to visitors to this site we would be delighted to consider adding it to our ever growing list.

PLEASE NOTE: The website has a target audience, this also includes children and youth themselves looking for ideas. We will therefore NOT list sites or companies that offer adult content or products, promote gambling.

We will also not promote sites that are mainly lists of links to other sites. 

To be eligible for promotion on Fun and Games.org, sites and companies must fit into one of the following categories:  

• Useful for youth and or children's work

• Toys.

• Games sites (Computer games sites are a permitted listing, but we do not host computer based games ourselves or offer downloads.)

• Party ideas /supplies

• Craft ideas / supplies

• Event ideas / supplies

• Educational  ideas / supplies

• Drama ideas, scripts or groups 

• Re-enactment groups

These are general guidelines, so if you feel your product or site is not listed but would be of interest to youth, children and those working with them, please contact us and we will let you know. 

FREE Listing 

A free listing is text only. Just provide us with your company or website name, contact details and a description of the site or services limited to 100 words. e.g.

All listing must comply with the sites terms and conditions for advertising.

Enhanced listings

Rates until 31 Dec of 2006.

If you would like an enhanced listing, we provide two levels of graphic enhanced advertising for very competitive rates.

Logo Promotion 

• Description of site increased to 200 words maximum.
• Can include a logo graphic 120 x 60 pixels or 120 x 80 pixels (our own in house design team will be happy to create a logo or modify any existing images you use for this purpose, at reasonable rates. Please enquire if you desire this service.) 

All banners can be linked to a website or email address.

Banner Promotion

• The basic package plus:
• Large banner up to 468 x 60 pixels (our own in house design team will be happy to create a banner or modify any existing images you use for this purpose, at reasonable rates. Please enquire if you desire this service.) 

• We will also endeavor to directly link you to activities within the site where the services you provide are relevant.

All banners can be linked to a website or email address.

Terms and Conditions

1. Funandgames.org reserves the right not to publish listings if the content or target website is not in keeping with our image and/or target audience.
2. Any listing must comply with the general guidelines outlined above. All products or services must be suitable for young people or children.
3. All URLs are checked to confirm content. We will not accept URLs to sites that do not exist or have no content.
4. Funandgames.org takes no responsibility for the content of external sites that it is linked to.
5. If the content of an advertised site or company is found to have changed after being listed (or no longer has a web presence) and no longer provides the goods or services in keeping with our target audience, Funandgames.org reserves the right to remove or alter the listing from the directory as it sees fit. 

Additional Terms and Conditions for Enhanced listings

6. Funandgames.org reserves the right not to publish supplied artwork if the design, content or target website is not in keeping with our image and/or target audience.
7. Interstitial banners and constantly animated images will not be accepted. Roll-over animated images will be considered.
8. All artwork used on the site will be hosted on the Funandgames.org servers. We will not place banners or logos that are embedded images delivered from an external server. Copyright for any image remains with the holder. It is up the holder to inform and provide any changes to artwork or logos that occur during the contracted period.
9. Minimum contract period is 6 months. Contracted period starts from the date the listing is uploaded. This should be within two week of any artwork being received or finalised in the case of it being created by our in house design team.
10. All prices are gross and stated in UK Pounds sterling. All prices are for the contract period paid for until it expires. Renewal after a contract has expired will be at the rates being offered at the time of expiry. 
11. At the end of the contract period if the contract is not renewed Funandgames.org reserves the right to either remove the listing entirely or provide it as a basic listing only.
